Clipboard History, added in the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, turned the clipboard from a single-item holder into a genuine productivity tool — and it remains one of the more underused built-in features.
# Enable via registry (or Settings > System > Clipboard) Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Clipboard" -Name "EnableClipboardHistory" -Value 1
Using It
Win + V - opens clipboard history panel Click any item - pastes it Pin icon - keeps an item permanently, survives reboots
Sync Across Devices
Settings > System > Clipboard also offers syncing clipboard history across devices signed into the same Microsoft account — genuinely useful for copying something on a desktop and pasting it on a laptop moments later, though worth being aware of for anyone handling sensitive copied data, since it means clipboard content briefly passes through Microsoft’s sync infrastructure.
